[ Eyes on Israel ]

“You shall therefore keep every commandment which I am commanding you today, so that you may be strong and go in and possess the land into which you are about to cross to possess it; so that you may prolong your days on the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give to them and to their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey. For the land, into which you are entering to possess it, is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you used to sow your seed and water it with your foot like a vegetable garden. But the land into which you are about to cross to possess it, a land of hills and valleys, drinks water from the rain of heaven, a land for which Yahweh your Elohim cares; the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim are always on it, from the beginning even to the end of the year.

(Deuteronomy 11:8-12; NASU)

The membership of YPTC believes very strongly that we are living in the time of the end, and that our Savior Yahshua the Messiah will return in our lifetime. For that reason, we follow the example of Almighty Yahweh by keeping our eyes upon the nation of Israel as we wait for prophecy to be fulfilled. There are specific scriptures, which when they are fulfilled, will indicate where we are on the prophetic time table. Some of these events specifically mark the beginning of the time of the end. And so, just as Yahshua told us in the parable of the fig tree, we watch for signs. “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. (Matthew 24:32-35; NASU)

We must realize that in Apostolic times the disciples of Yahshua saw prophecy being fulfilled right before their very eyes. Even though they knew the scriptures prophesying of the coming Messiah, they many times did not understand the true meaning of these things until after they were fulfilled. Acts chapter two is such a case.

“But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: ‘Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you and give heed to my words. For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only the third hour of the day; but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: “AND IT SHALL BE IN THE LAST DAYS,” Yahweh says,
“THAT I WILL POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT ON ALL MANKIND;
AND YOUR SONS AND YOUR DAUGHTERS SHALL PROPHESY,
AND YOUR YOUNG MEN SHALL SEE VISIONS,
AND YOUR OLD MEN SHALL DREAM DREAMS;
EVEN ON MY BONDSLAVES, BOTH MEN AND WOMEN,
I WILL IN THOSE DAYS POUR FORTH OF MY SPIRIT
And they shall prophesy.
AND I WILL GRANT WONDERS IN THE SKY ABOVE
AND SIGNS ON THE EARTH BELOW,
BLOOD, AND FIRE, AND VAPOR OF SMOKE.
THE SUN WILL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS
AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD,
BEFORE THE GREAT AND GLORIOUS DAY OF Yahweh SHALL COME.
AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF Yahweh WILL BE SAVED.”'’”
(Acts 2:14-21 NASU)

Peter and the others only understood this prophecy as it unfolded right before their eyes. We too must read and have the prophecies of the last days cemented into our minds, so that when they are coming to pass we will understand their true meaning. We need to read and study the prophecies so that we will understand them when they come to pass.

One of the most important events that we look for is the fulfillment of Daniel 12:11. This event will announce the beginning of the time of the end. “He said, ‘Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Many will be purged, purified and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. From the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. How blessed is he who keeps waiting and attains to the 1,335 days!’” (Daniel 12:9-12; NASU)

When this passage is compared with what our Savior said in Matthew 24:15-16, we see that the daily sacrifices will be stopped by someone who will stand in the “holy place.” This event will begin the time referred to in the scriptures as the Great Tribulation. Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.” (Matthew 24:15-16; NASU)

The “Holy Place” mentioned in verse 15 is the Greek word “hagios” which means sacred, holy or consecrated. The “Holy Place” referred to probably relates to the area known as the Temple Mount, which is located in Jerusalem where the first and second temples once stood. Some believe that it relates to a third Temple that will be built on the same location. Whatever the case may be, this site is very important for the fulfillment of end-time Bible prophecy.

The person referred to as the one who will set up the “ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION” will abolish the regular sacrifice (the morning and evening sacrifice—Numbers 28:1-8; Exodus 29:38-41). In order for the daily sacrifices to be stopped, they must first be started.

We should also remember that the morning and evening offerings were not sin offerings, but rather offered as a sweet aroma to Yahweh as He commanded to be offered to Him twice daily. It should be noted that the temple does not necessarily have to be rebuilt for the sacrifices to be renewed. All that is needed is an altar on the Temple Mount, and they can resume. The altar of sacrifice was located outside the Temple in ancient times; therefore, it is not mandatory for the Temple to be built first.

The following is a news excerpt from Arutz Sheva posted concerning the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful:

No Paschal Sacrifice This Year, as of Now

In other legal news, the Supreme Court rejected a petition by the Temple Mount Faithful organization to ascend to the Temple Mount this Passover and offer the Biblically-mandated Paschal sacrifice. The judges noted, however, that the "ongoing frustration regarding [the deprivation of] Jewish rights on the Temple Mount is understood, particularly in light of the denial of any such rights by hostile elements."

It would appear from the above concluding remark that Israel’s patience is wearing thin over the restrictions placed on Jews concerning the activities on the Temple Mount. One day soon, they will be allowed to go there and the prophecies of Yahshua’s return will begin to be fulfilled very quickly. Let us always watch and be prepared.

Gershon Salomon and the Temple Mount Faithful

As our eyes turn to Israel and Jerusalem, we consider how the daily sacrifices could be restored in order for this to be fulfilled. Almighty Yahweh has blessed this ministry to have contact with people who are doing significant things to cause the remnant of His people to return to Him in fulfillment of prophecy. Since the beginning of this ministry we have been watching the efforts of a man who could very well be at the forefront of re-establishing the daily sacrifices on the Temple. His name is Gershon Salomon, and he is the founder and leader of the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement.

On the evening of March 20, 2007, while in Israel for the annual Aviv search, the authors of this letter were blessed to have an audience with Mr. Gershon Salomon. Over an hour was spent with him discussing the aims and goals of the Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement with the conversation centering mostly around prophecy.

The atmosphere of this meeting can best be described as a spiritual experience. From Before we left for Israel, Yahweh had showed us that the meeting with Mr. Salomon was of great importance. In previous years, when representatives from YPTC had traveled to Israel, we had contacted Mr. Salomon’s office to see if we could meet with him. Each time there was no response. This year was different. When we emailed his office we received an email back inviting us to come. Then, two days before we left for Israel, Karl received a phone call from Mr. Salomon himself. In the call he expressed a special desire to meet with us. We knew then that Yahweh was at work, and we were appreciative to Yahweh for allowing us to come into contact with people who may have a role to play in ultimately fulfilling Bible prophecy.

Mr. Salomon, along with the Temple Mount Faithful supporters, plans to place two corner stones on the Temple Mount for the construction of the Temple. When that will happen remains to be seen. They have prepared two large 6 ½ ton marble corner stones to be used in this effort. In all probability, when that takes place the morning and evening sacrifices will be resumed. That could open the door for Daniel 12 to be fulfilled with the beginning of the Great Tribulation. The following excerpt from the Temple Mount Faithful website provides background for Mr. Salomon’s position on rebuilding the Temple.

“Moshe Dayan, the defense minister of Israel in 1967, made a terrible decision by turning control of the Temple Mount to the Moslem authorities of Jerusalem. Since that time Moslem Arabs have maintained control of this crucial Biblical site. Gershon Salomon recognized the tragedy of this action and formed the Temple Mount Faithful organization. Since that time he has dedicated himself to the vision of consecrating the Temple Mount to the Name of G-d, to removing the Moslem shrines placed there as a symbol of Moslem conquest, to the soon rebuilding of the Third Temple there, and the G-dly redemption of the People and the Land of Israel.”

You can view a biography of Gershon Salomon, from which the above quote was taken, along with more details about The Temple Mount Faithful by visiting their website, www.templefaithfulorg.org, or http://www.templemountfaithful.org/leader.htm.

We plan to publish a more detailed report of this monumental meeting in our next newsletter. Until then, here are some pictures taken with Mr. Salomon and some of the two corner stones.

Mr. Salomon is a very busy man and for this reason we express special thanks to him for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet with us.

The significance of this meeting will undoubtedly be seen in the future. We appreciate all those who, by way of financial support to YPTC, made this meeting possible. Your support is helping to move prophecy ahead so that Yahshua can return soon. May Yahweh continue to bless this ministry as we seek His will.

Shalom in Yahweh and Yahshua,

Elders Bob Wirl and Karl Bloodworth
