Shalom Brethren and Friends,

We once again extend heartfelt greetings and peace to the family of Yahweh through our monthly communication. It is always a pleasure to be invited into your homes each month. Even though our visit is via the printed page, our hearts and purpose are united as we share in the labors of Yahweh’s vineyard.

From the start of our journey toward salvation and the Kingdom of Yahweh, Yahweh warned of the trials and difficulties we could expect to experience. At the same time, He encouraged us with the promise of manifold blessings if we maintain our dedication to Him. Through it all, we have tried to remain faithful to our calling to obedience to Him, not merely because we are required to do so, but because we love Him and want to please Him each day of our lives. It is our sincere prayer that our Father Yahweh through His Son, our Savior and Redeemer Yahshua, will give the strength and courage to make the difficult choices that are placed before us each day.

We truly appreciate the dedication that each one exhibits each day and the faithful support that you provide to this labor of love which Yahweh started here in YPTC. You have helped to make possible great progress over these first three years. The successes that are accomplished for Yahweh’s honor and glory continue to be seen each day. With your continued assistance and the continued blessings from Yahweh, we look to even greater growth and advancement.

Yahweh’s Holy Days

With the observance of the Feast of Weeks now history, we look forward to the feast days of the seventh scriptural month. Provided that the seventh month new moon is seen as predicted, the seventh month feast days will occur on the following dates:

Feast of TrumpetsSeptember 24, 2006
Day of AtonementOctober 3, 2006
1st High Day of Feast of TabernaclesOctober 8, 2006
Last Great DayOctober 15, 2006

Geographical Location for Sighting New Moons

There has been somewhat of a controversy concerning the sanctification of the monthly new moons. Some teach that the new moon must be exclusively viewed in Jerusalem or the Land of Israel in order to be properly sanctified. Other believers, like YPTC, believe that the new moon is sanctified when it is viewed by believers anywhere on the earth. Because our membership ranges from Kenya, East Africa to the West Coast of the US, if any of our members or other acceptable witnesses view the new crescent we designate that day as the first day of the scriptural month. We base this view on the fact that we are part of the dispersion of physical and spiritual Israel in these last days.

James referred to this in James 1:1 when he addressed his epistle as follows: “James, a bond-servant of Yahweh and of the Master Yahshua Messiah, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.” (NASU)

This epistle was written somewhere between 8 and 20 years before the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. With the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE, the Jerusalem council (Sanhedrin), lead by the High Priest, ceased to exist. The Sanhedrin was the religious ruling body that was responsible with sanctifying the visible new moon crescent each month. In the later half of the 4th century CE, because of the dispersion of the Jews throughout the world, Hillel II abolished the proclamation concerning the visible new moon observance and developed a calculated calendar. This calendar, which is still used today in Rabbinic Judaism, has many extra rules and regulations not found in the scriptures. Hillel II devised this calendar as a means of keeping all Jews (with the exception of the Karaites who continued to follow the visible new moon sightings) in unity with the observance of the feast days.

Since we consider YPTC to be part of the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad, we determine the first day of the scriptural month according to sightings by acceptable witnesses in any geographical location. This keeps us in unity for feast day observances. For instance, if the new moon is sighted in Kenya, which in is in east Africa, then that day is designated as the first day of the scriptural month for all brethren around the world. The same is true if the new moon is sighted in California. Some times the new moon can be seen in California, or in other locations in western US, and cannot be seen in Israel. If, for instance, true worshippers see the new moon in California but those in Jerusalem were unable to see it because the crescent was too thin, what should be done? Should those in California be disqualified as witnesses because they are further west of Jerusalem and saw the new moon? Or, should they be accepted as witnesses, and that day be designated as the first day of the scriptural month? We find no prohibition in the Torah that excludes witnesses in the western hemisphere (or any other location) in favor of Israel and Jerusalem. Since Yahweh’s dispersed people are told to be in unity, sighting the visible new moon in the western hemisphere, whether seen in Israel or not, would designate new moon day. YPTC makes new moon sighting information available at our website as it is reported. We make this information available so that other believers can make a proper determination of each month’s new moon. We are determined to share information and work with others who share our desire to observe the visible new moon crescent in compliance with the will of our Father Yahweh.

Furthermore, at His ascension, Yahshua pointed out to His disciples that once they received the Holy Spirit they should begin witnessing in Jerusalem, then go to Samaria, and finally go to the ends of the earth. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8; NIV) We are in the era where the message of Yahshua’s return has reached the far ends of the earth.

Some people believe that because of passages like Isaiah 2:1-4 and Micah 4:1-4 that we must go by Jerusalem for the new moons. These passages deal with the Kingdom period when Yahshua rules from Jerusalem. These passages don’t specifically mention new moons or how Yahshua will regulate them. We can only speculate that He could regulate new moons from Jerusalem or He could decide to accept witnesses located further west. What He will do remains to be seen.

Revelation 11:8 should be considered by those who insist that Jerusalem, as the “Holy City,” must at this time determine new moons. “And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Master was impaled.” (Revelation 11:8; NKJV) Calling Jerusalem Sodom and Egypt is a strong indication that it presently is not the “Holy City” that it later becomes when Yahshua returns.

There is a movement in Judaism today to reinstitute the Sanhedrin in Jerusalem as a religious council, and follow the scriptural calendar by observing the visible new moon crescent each month. We will wait to see what will happen. However, since there is little support and much opposition, it is rather unlikely that a functioning Sanhedrin that is accepted by the majority of rabbis would ever be established. We will continue to keep track of the progress of this movement and report what happens.

Feast of Tabernacles Update

It is hard to believe that this year’s Feast of Tabernacles is only a few months away. It seems like only yesterday that we gathered for the 2005 gathering of Yahweh’s saints to offer worship and praise to Him. For those who are interested in attending the 2006 observance of Yahweh’s Feast of Tabernacles, YPTC will be observing this feast in North Carolina.

The facilities at the camp are excellent. This Feast is going to be slightly more basic and more economical than previous ones. There will be adjustments we will have to make, but everything will work out for the better. The camp management is working with us to make this a great feast. Since our initial visit to the camp we have been in contact with the management and have had discussions with them about the feast. They continue to assure us that they are going to do all they can to accommodate us and they have expressed their concern on a number of occasions that they want our repeat business and will therefore do what it takes to achieve that result. We will be traveling back to the campgrounds in a couple of weeks and will have more details coming in the next newsletters. Any questions you may have now can be answered by calling the toll-free number or e-mail if you choose.

Telephone Hookup for the Feast of Weeks

In order to better serve the brethren throughout the US, for the Sabbath before Pentecost and on Pentecost, we serviced six different congregations with a live hookup. Congregations in California, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Missouri and Alabama, joined the brethren in Pennsylvania for services. We have been using the phone hookup on a limited basis and this was the first time we were hooked-up with more than two other congregations.

We were all pleasantly surprised how well this endeavor went. We expect to use this in the future as a means of better serving all the brethren. For those brethren who would like to participate in this program, please contact us by calling our toll free number 1-888-FOR-YPTC or e-mail us at contactus@yahstruth.org.

NEWS, NOTES & NOTABLES

  • 3rd Month New Moon. The New Moon for the 3rd month was visibly seen by several brethren and friends shortly after the weekly Sabbath on May 27. This of course made May 28 New Moon day. We always appreciate hearing from all who contact us with information about this monthly event. We know that Yahweh will bless you for your dedication.
  • The 3rd month new moon was seen by brethren in the following locations: California—1, Georgia—4, Minnesota—2, Louisiana—1 and Pennsylvania—5.
  • 4th Month New Moon. The next crescent should be observable on the evening of June 26 just after sundown. We encourage all to watch and also to contact us with your results. With confirmation, June 27 will then be the first day of the 4th month. Remember to contact us at 1-888-YPTC.
  • Ministerial Meetings. We have scheduled a series of meetings to discuss the coming Sabbatical Year. Many of us have observed this important adherence every 7 years as commanded in Leviticus 25 and Deuteronomy 15. According to the count we have used, we are currently in the 5th year of the cycle. And beginning on the Day of Atonement this fall, we will begin year 6.

Therefore, the Shemmittah (the Hebrew term for the Sabbatical Year) is not very far away. We shall be reviewing information concerning the accuracy of when the Sabbatical year occurs. We will also look carefully at the “nuts and bolts” of this observance. It will be necessary for us to consider all scriptural and historical information so as to know how to properly keep the Shemmitah. We want to do everything possible to ensure that we act according to the will of Yahweh. As has been our practice from the very beginning, we shall keep you informed of these proceedings. However, a full report will probably not be available until the Feast of Tabernacles later this fall.
  • New article available. We have enclosed with this mailing the latest article available for use. We hope that “True Worship and the Wearing of Tassels” will be helpful in your witnessing efforts. It is always our intention to provide literature that helps to answer questions others have concerning our faith. Yahweh willing, there will be more of these in the coming months.

Prayer Changes Things

As we pray to our Heavenly Father, we are able to communicate with Him and express the petitions of our heart. Prayer is a form of worship by which we offer praise and thanks to Yahweh. Through prayer, we make our hopes and fears known to the one who cares. As we communicate our petitions to our Father in Heaven, we can have confidence that He will hear and answer us according to His will. We find forgiveness from Yahweh and we learn to forgive others. Prayer teaches us to keep the two great commandments as we express our love for Yahweh and our neighbor. Truly, prayer changes things.

We ask all the brethren to take time to pray. This is an important means of gaining more spirituality and drawing closer to Yahweh and Yahshua. It is our prayer that all the brethren will remember to pray for each other and especially this ministry. Prayer changes things. Take time each day to spend time alone with Yahweh and Yahshua in prayer. Especially, remember to pray for the brethren on the prayer list. We value your prayers very highly. Through prayer we can exercise our faith and see Yahweh manifest His great power in our lives and in the lives of all of His people everywhere.

You can submit your request for inclusion on the member prayer list in several ways.

Communication with Yahweh and the Brethren

Brethren, the miracles of following Yahweh are ever present before our eyes. Each day, He manifests His grace and glory to us. Are we able to see what He shows us? We all experience His protection and the many ways He provides for us personally. But He is also showing great phenomena for this ministry.

The work in Kenya grows at a phenomenal rate and the brethren there labor tirelessly in share the truth with others. The brethren Trinidad are also inspired by the movement of Yahweh’s Holy Spirit there. Here in the US, we are looking for ways to expand the outreach so that many more may have the opportunity to hear the great truths that we have all accepted and believe. But we believe there is much more.

It is up to each one to look carefully at himself or herself and examine the personal relationship we have with Yahweh. He has promised that our faith can assist us performing great miracles even to point of moving mountains, “Then the disciples came to Yahshua privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?" So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you," (Matthew 17:19-20, NKJV)

Yahweh has given us a spirit of power that we must use for His work. Let us all determine that we will do just that.

We pray that you remain in close communication with us. Call, write, email us for encouragement because each communication from you uplifts us in the labors we perform for our Father Yahweh and our Savior Yahshua. Thank you for your dedication and support.

May Yahweh strengthen and guide you each day.

With Deep Love In Yahshua’s Name,

Your Brethren In Yahweh’s Truth
