Ex 18:13-16     The next day Moses took his seat to serve as judge for the people, and they stood around him from morning till evening. When his father-in-law saw all that Moses was doing for the people, he said, “What is this you are doing for the people? Why do you alone sit as judge, while all these people stand around you from morning till evening?”  Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek Yahweh’s will. Whenever they have a dispute, it is brought to me, and I decide between the parties and inform them of Yahweh’s decrees and laws.” Moses was the judge of Israel. What was the constitutional reference on which he based his decisions? The commandments and statutes of Yahweh. When you are making decisions in your own life do you use this same standard to determine what to do? Our Heavenly Father clearly describes how we should decide matters in our life. Do you turn to it for guidance in even the smallest matters? Each day you must take the time and make the effort to study or read from the Word of Yahweh. It will provide you with the support you need for all of life’s problems. Even something as simple as reading this daily devotional will help to strengthen you and increase your resolve to implement His Word in your daily life. Become more like Moses who judged according to Yahweh’s commandments and statutes and do so in every part of your life.
