Joel 2:1-2    Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill.Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of Yahweh is coming. It is close at hand- a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come. The world is heading for destruction. The sins of man today are nearing peak levels just as they reached in the time of Noah and in the time spoken of here by Joel, who wrote before Judah was taken into captivity. Joel attempted to warn Judah of their impending doom if they did not change their ways and return to Yahweh their Creator. We are given a similar warning today. The writings of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Paul, Peter and the entire book of Revelation speak of the final judgment to fall on man. We are nearing the ultimate day of Yahweh which will be unlike anything ever seen before. It will occur in many stages and will take the lives of 2/3 of all mankind. However, we can avoid being included among those who will be destroyed. We only need to return to Yahweh from the heart. We only need to turn to Him and to make every effort to perform His will in our lives each day. This message is the message that Joel gave to Judah and it is the same message that we should heed today.  And we should share this warning with all who will hear.
