DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR APRIL 6, 2018

4/6/2018 John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

In this verse we see that Yahshua is giving us a new commandment. While it is said that this is a “renewed” commandment, which originally comes from Leviticus 19:18, which states that “we are to love our neighbor as ourselves”, meaning that we are to love our neighbor at the same level that we would want to be loved there is a difference. The difference in this verse is that it states that we are to love one another as, He, Yahshua the Messiah loved us. He loved us so much that He gave his life for us. So, we also should be willing to give of our life to others. We give of ourselves when we encourage people, help them when they need it, and just by being supportive of them and seeing that they are blessed. We show our love to people by just listening to them when they are in distress, or by sharing their burden. Let’s practice this type of love to one another. Make it your goal to show unconditional love to someone today. “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend.” (John 15:13)
