DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR MAY 1, 2018

5/1/2018 1 Pet 4:1-2 Saul’s anger flared up at Jonathan and he said to him, “You son of a perverse and rebellious woman! Don’t I know that you have sided with the son of Jesse to your own shame and to the shame of the mother who bore you? As long as the son of Jesse lives on this earth, neither you nor your kingdom will be established. Now send and bring him to me, for he must die!” “Why should he be put to death? What has he done?” Jonathan asked his father. But Saul hurled his spear at him to kill him. Then Jonathan knew that his father intended to kill David. Jonathan got up from the table in fierce anger; on that second day of the month he did not eat, because he was grieved at his father’s shameful treatment of David.

The credo of the True Worshiper is Yahweh first. He is absolutely committed to performing His will in his life. He no longer lives according to physical desires. He does not allow physical circumstances to regulate his life. And he is willing to suffer for this position. He knows that Yahshua’s life proves that it is possible to overcome every human temptation and he strives daily to do likewise. He may struggle with accomplishing this feat, but he is never deterred in his resolve to stay the course. Today must be another day of overcoming the weaknesses of the flesh. Do not allow any temptation to lure you off track. We are guaranteed that Satan is constantly attempting to encourage to become weary in well doing and to turn away from doing those things we know to be right. Resist the urge to follow him. Stay true to Yahweh and He will stay true to you.
