DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR MAY 26, 2018 SHABBAT SHALOM

5/26/2018 Eph 4:17-24 So I tell you this, and insist on it in Yahweh, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of Elohim because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. You, however, did not come to know the Messiah that way. Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Yahshua. You were taught, about your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like Elohim in true righteousness and holiness.

How seriously do you take Paul’s call for us to live a life totally different from those around us? Do you actively attempt to become more and more like the new creature which has been called to a higher purpose in life? The average man gives in to natural human tendencies and uses rationalization, pride, and excuses to regulate their actions. They talk themselves into actions which take them farther and farther away from Yahweh. They make no effort to raise their level of existence beyond the human, physical plane. However, Yahweh has called you to a higher existence and you have voluntarily chosen to answer His call. In doing so, you must not give in to those human urges which take you far from the blessings of Yahweh. You must put this old man aside and thrust the new man forward—the man that constantly renews his mind, the man that daily seeks to be in the likeness of the Elohim family, the man that has been created in righteousness and truth. This is the person that you must become. May Yahweh grant you the strength and courage to stand against the old and to fully establish the new in your life today.
