DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JULY 20, 2018

7/20/2018 Eccl 8:11-13 When the sentence for a crime is not quickly carried out, the hearts of the people are filled with schemes to do wrong. Although a wicked man commits a hundred crimes and still lives a long time, I know that it will go better with Yahweh-fearing men, who are reverent before Elohim. Yet because the wicked do not fear Elohim, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow.

Wickedness and evil surrounds us each day. At times it is overwhelming to see the devastation man subjects on other men. What makes it all more difficult to endure is the absence of reprisal against wrong doings. We see improper behavior in the work place. We witness illicit activities in our neighborhoods. We experience unethical actions against us from family, friends, and co-workers. Man believes he has a license to do as he pleases because judgment is not immediate. We must remember that there is a price to pay for sin and wickedness. Justice may appear to be far from our world, but Yahweh holds every person accountable for their every action, no matter how large or small. Continue to avoid the stain of the sins and improprieties of those around you. Fear Yahweh, for He will reward the wicked for his wickedness and the righteous for his righteousness.
