DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR AUGUST 1, 2018

8/01/2018 Matt 7:24-27 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.

One of the greatest mistakes that many Bible believers make is to believe that grace eliminates the need to “do”. Yet our Savior clearly taught that doing is important. The individual who is strong, firm and unwavering is the one who actively performs the advice Yahshua left for us. Being a true follower of the Messiah is to do, living as He lived. This requires building a personal foundation based on His teaching. Are you up to the task or do you build your life’s foundation on the advice and counsel of worldly sources? Build your personal house on the wisdom contained in the words of our Savior. It is the best foundation available to man.
