DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SEPTEMBER 6, 2018

9/6/2018 Prov 17:14 Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.

We all seek peace. However, we do not always take the proper actions to keep the peace. We frequently run to create a quarrel by impulsively speaking out, even when we know it will create an argument. We can “turn off the water” at any time. The faucet is not broken. We need only to use it to prevent the water flow. Our Savior taught us “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of Elohim.” Peacemakers turn off the water before it floods the house with strife and contention. Do not be quarrelsome. Abandon any quarrelsome tendencies you may have. Avoid impulsive desires to speak out when you know it will lead to squabbling, bickering and clashes. Turn off the water.
