DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JANUARY 20, 2018

1/20/2018 Eph 6:5-9 Servants, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey the Messiah. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of the Messiah, doing the will of Yahweh from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving Yahweh, not men, because you know that Yahweh will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free. And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Both employee and employer alike are obligated to perform the duties required of them. An employee must do the tasks asked of him or her and do them as if he or she is laboring for Yahweh Himself. Employees must respect their employer and always give their best effort for every task, even those they don’t enjoy. We work to be paid. But we also work because Yahweh requires that we labor for 6 days to truly understand and enjoy the benefits of the Sabbath. Employers must be respectful of their employees and should always be concerned with their well-being. They cannot be tyrants and should treat each employee as if he or she is Yahshua. We all must answer to Him. One day, we will all give account for the ways we have treated others, whether we are servants, laborers, business owners, supervisors, or company executives. So regardless of your position, do your best work today and every day as if you are laboring for our Redeemer, Yahshua. That is truly doing the will of Yahweh from the heart
