Gen 2:15-17        Yahweh Elohim took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And Yahweh Elohim commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”  Yahweh commanded Adam just as has He has commanded all mankind ever since the original creation. Those commands are not just His way of exercising power over His creation. He could prove His authority in many other ways. Those laws, statutes, ordinances and judgments are given for our benefit. <br/><br/>Yahweh told Adam that if he ate from the tree of knowing the good and knowing the evil, death would result. He was warning Adam about a danger that he faced. Yahweh was seeking to protect Adam. In like manner, Yahweh has given us His word with warnings and instructions for a safe and peaceful life. If only we would listen and conform to His counsel, most of the problems we face in life would vanish. <br/><br/>May Yahweh grant you the wisdom and courage to listen to Him and stand firmly upon His Word.
