Hosea 14:1-2     Return O Israel, to Yahweh your Elohim, your sins have been your downfall, Take words with you and return to Yahweh, say to Him “Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips.” The word “return” in this passage is #7725 in the Hebrew dictionary pronounced shoob- and it means to retreat or to turn from. In war movies we’ve seen the enemy “retreat” from their current position and they run away or back from the allies. We are to retreat to Yahweh from our life of sin and disobedience which has been our downfall. When we ask Yahweh to forgive our sins and truly perform an act of “shoob” (repentance) He is faithful to forgive our sins (1John 1:9). Then we can offer the fruit of our lips as bullocks some translations say. He is truly merciful and loving and wants us close to Him.  Return to Him today by turning from your sin and run into His loving arms.
