Daily Devotional for July 24, 2021
Shabbat Shalom
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even the Messiah did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” Rom 15:1-3
Each one of us is obligated to look first to the well being of those around us. Yahweh teaches us that it is much better to give than to receive. In giving to others by seeking to please them, we secure Yahweh’s favor and blessings for ourselves. This is the reason that we obtain so much pleasure from helping others. This is the reason that our Savior was able to freely give His life as a ransom for ours. This is the example that He left for us to follow.
Each day look for ways to please your neighbors. And who is your neighbor? All who you see and hear and interact with. Reach out to help someone today. As you do, Yahweh will reach out to you.
