DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SEPTEMBER 14, 2021
Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple. Ps 65:4
We have all experienced the anxiety of waiting to hear back from a job interview or waiting to hear if we have been accepted into some college we applied to or to learn about an application that we submitted for some type of transaction. We wait hoping to receive a positive response hoping that we will be included in the group we have submitted an application for. We usually take certain steps and make some changes in our actions or thoughts or in our presentation in order to impress the interviewer hoping to sway his or her decision.
In a similar way, we are waiting to see if Yahweh has chosen us to be included among those who will dwell with Him in eternity. In this far more important situation, the changes we make cannot only be made while we sit in the presence of the interviewer. We do not have the luxury of making temporary, surface, superficial changes. The changes must be permanent and must come from the heart, because this interviewer sees our heart even more clearly than we can.
Consider your life a life long interview that is being conducted by an all seeing interviewer one who has assistants watching your every action and even knowing your thoughts and intentions. Now that’s an interview!
As you long for the better life and for better days, remember that you are being interviewed for a position there. If you understand that this is indeed a life long process, you will be extended an offer.
