Daily Devotional for October 13, 2021
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of Elohim! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1
So many people are plagued by an identity crisis. They experience great difficulty in understanding who or what they are. Perhaps at times you wonder about your purpose or place in this world or in society. John clearly shows that Yahweh’s people are fully aware of who they are—they are His children. He has called them to purposes that go beyond the human realm. He expects for them to live their lives according to a different set of rules and principles. He requires that they take on the family values that He has established, just as any loving father would expect for his children to do.
Our adoption has not yet occurred. We are currently orphans, living in this orphanage called the world. We are in misery and, for many years, have looked for someone to come and rescue us through the adoption process. That day is coming. However, our intended adopted Parent is examining us to see if we are willing to live by His rules and to take on His personality.
If you long for this adoption, if you long to become a part of this family, if you desire to live His house, live each day with the sincerity, compassion, and resolve that our Savior did and Yahweh will adopt you and make you a permanent member.
