DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR AUGUST 22, 2018

8/22/2018 Heb 3:12-13 See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living Elohim. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

An unbelieving heart leads one from Yahweh and to sin. The question is always “how much faith do you have?” Faith allows us to face difficult times and circumstances. Faith provides us with the courage to move ahead despite our fears. Faith allows us to be strong despite our weaknesses. We build our faith by encouraging each other. We avoid meddling in each other’s affairs. But we do look for opportunities to strengthen someone else when they are facing difficulties because we know that sin is always crouching at the door. Satan is always looking for his entry point into our lives and in the lives of those close to us. We must be there for each other. We must support, give confidence to, encourage others when we see the deceitfulness of sin approaching our brothers and sisters. Sin deceives by feeling like the right thing to do even though we know it not to be. Sin deceives by appealing to our human frailties and making us believe that they are strengths. Sin deceives by enticing the mind to dwell on improper thoughts which lead to wrong actions. Let’s all draw closer together and closer to Yahweh and Yahshua by developing hearts full of faith. We must be different from Ancient Israel who lacked the faith necessary for adoption into the Elohim family. We, as Israel today, must prove our faith by avoiding the deceitfulness of sin.
