DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SEPTEMBER 20, 2018
SHABBAT SHABBATHON

9/20/2018 Lev 16:29-31, 34 This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you must deny yourselves and not do any work — whether native-born or an alien living among you — because on this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. Then, before Yahweh, you will be clean from all your sins. It is a Sabbath of rest, and you must deny yourselves; it is a lasting ordinance… This is to be a lasting ordinance for you: Atonement is to be made once a year for all the sins of the Israelites.” And it was done, as Yahweh commanded Moses. Yom Kippur, the Day of Covering, the Day of Atonement.

Today is the day of forgiveness. Today is the day when our confessed sins are placed before Yahweh by our High Priest and Savior, Yahshua, and those sins are covered, forgiven. What a true blessing it is to ask for forgiveness and to have your request granted. Frequently, when we ask other individuals to forgive us, they refuse or must think about it or they will only grant forgiveness after some time has passed. Do you take this approach when others ask you for forgiveness? Today is that one day in the year when we are assured that our sins may be forgiven. Afterward, we are in a cleansed state. We have a fresh start and a renewed relationship with our Father in heaven. Make certain to show your true appreciation for His forgiveness by living a life that is committed and dedicated to Yahweh as never before. Praise Yahweh for His mercy and abundant lovingkindness toward us.
