Shabbat Shalom
The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.'” Ex 31:16-17
Today is the Sabbath. It is the day that Yahweh has created for our benefit and for His honor and glory. It is a sign, a symbol, a mark, an indicator of Yahweh’s people. Those who claim to worship Him bear the unmistakable characteristic of keeping this day holy. They refrain from work and personal pleasures. They restrict their activities and focus on worship and study. They rest because Yahweh rested.
Make this day special. Make this day unique. Take extra time for prayer, worship, and study. Today is the Sabbath. Keep it holy.
