DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR DECEMBER 25, 2017

Luke 2:4-7 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Miriam, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Today is the day that people the world over celebrate the birthday of the Savior. However, everything about December 25 points to a different birth. This day was celebrated as the ancient birthday of the sun, not the birthday of Yahweh’s Son. There is a multitude of information on this subject available from a wide variety of sources. However, suffice it to say here that Yahshua was conceived at this time of year and born sometime during late September or early October. Articles in local newspapers and on national news programs constantly point out the correct historical roots of the celebrations that flood the earth at this time of the year. Look up Bacchanalia and Saturnalia celebrations online or in your encyclopedia. Research for yourself when the course of Abiah served to determine when John the Baptist was conceived, and then count 6 months to the Messiah’s conception (Luke 1:5-9, 24). Some of this material is covered in our article on this subject. Please take the time to read it. In any case, Yahweh knows those who are His. They include those who reject the religious holidays of the world today and look to His word for those special times that He endorses.
