DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SEPTEMBER 7, 2019 SHABBAT SHALOM
And Yahweh said to Moses, 2 “Say to all the congregation of the people of Israel, you shall be holy; for I Yahweh your Elohim am holy. 3 Every one of you shall reverence his mother and his father, and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am Yahweh your Elohim. 4 Do not turn to idols or make for yourselves molten Elohim: I am Yahweh your Elohim.
Almighty Yahweh has called a people to be like Him holy, the term means set apart for a special purpose. Kodesh in the Hebrew is something sacred like the Sabbath which is set apart from the other six days of the week for a special purpose. We must reverence our parents in order to fit this category as well and keep Yahweh’s Sabbaths. This includes the high Sabbaths as well as the weekly brethren. We must abstain from every form of idolatry if we are to be a holy people to Almighty Yahweh
