Daily Devotional for July 05, 2020
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And Elohim is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
Temptation is an enormously powerful tool of the enemy. While being tempted is not a sin, giving in to the temptation can lead to sin. Giving in to temptation does not always lead to sin. Someone might give in to the temptation of chocolate, which of course is not sinful. We are all tempted in one way or another. What might be a strong temptation for one person might not be one for another. There is no temptation that is unusual, that has never happened to someone else before. The choice we must make is do we give in to the temptation or resist it? That decision will be contingent on the question of does it cause me to sin or not? Yahweh will not allow us to be tempted above what we are able to bear, although sometimes it seems He takes us just to the brink of breaking.
Trust in Yahweh He will give you the inner strength to overcome your temptation.
