DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR JULY 13, 2020

7/13/2020 Prov 6:6-11 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. Do you give your absolute best effort in every endeavor every day? Do you only perform when there is an immediate recognition for your efforts? Do you only go the “extra mile” at work when the boss is looking? The ant requires no prodding to perform its daily tasks and it does so without recognition or “atta boys”. We all have responsibilities to manage and we must see to these tasks without regard to personal acknowledgements. Energetically approach each task every day. Attack your responsibilities and obligations—both family and business—with the dedication of the ant, who labors because it needs to be done and is expected of him.
