So listen to me, you men of understanding. Far be it from Elohim to do evil, from the Almighty to do wrong. He repays a man for what he has done; he brings upon him what his conduct deserves. Job 34:10-11
No one can earn their salvation. However, even during Old Testament times, men of wisdom and understanding such as Job’s friend Elihu knew that what one does matters. Elihu told Job and his three friends that one’s works will determine his final reward from Yahweh, whether to life eternal or to death. It’s not what you say about yourself or even what others believe to be the truth about you. It is what you actually do.
Yahweh is a righteous judge. Judges by definition consider all of the evidence presented to them before rendering decisions in a matter. Yahweh considers the evidence of the works of one’s life as the only important evidence He uses to decide our eternal outcome. Are you living your life as if every thought, act and behavior is evidence in your trial? Are you compassionate, loving, tenderhearted, humble and sincere in every encounter that you have? When your case is presented before Him in your final judgment, how will He decide? It is our hope that you take the time and make the effort to change where change is necessary in order to be acceptable to our Judge. It is our prayer that your life will yield the decision, “well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master.”
