Daily Devotional for July 13, 2019 Shabbat Shalom
Once you were alienated from Elohim and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by the Messiah’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. Colossians 1:21-23
These 3 verses show the wonderful saving power of Yahshua’s sacrifice on the tree. Notice that it’s our wicked works, the works of the flesh, that causes us to be alienated, separated from Yahweh. (Isaiah 59:1) We were enemies of Yahweh in our mind by the thoughts we had toward His way of living.
Yahshua the Messiah reconciled us, returned us to a state of harmony with Yahweh, by His death. He not only made the way possible for us to be brought back to Yahweh but made it possible that we might be presented to Yahweh as a holy and blameless offering. There is a condition to receive this pronouncement, and that is, we must continue in “the” faith being grounded and settled in the teachings that we received from the scriptures. The scriptures are what we should align our life with. If the teachings of man are contrary to what the scriptures teach, their teachings should be ignored. Take the time today and stop to thank Yahshua for the saving; reconciling work He has done for us.
