Is 66:1-2     This is what Yahweh says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be?  Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares Yahweh. “This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. Yahweh will look favorably on those who are humble and repentant. Throughout the Word of Yahweh we are reminded to remain humble and to repent whenever we discover that we have violated one of His commandments, statutes, ordinances, or judgments. We generally look at verses such as Is. 66:1-2 and use their instruction as a prod to do better each day. However, do we tremble at the Word? Do we look at the destruction that is promised for the wicked and become terrified at the thought of being included with them? Do we consider the destruction of Sodom, Gomorrah and the cities of the plain and seek to avoid their punishment? Do we remember the destruction of all of mankind before the flood, with the exception of only 8 people? Do we keep in mind the thousands of Israelites that fell in the wilderness due their sins? Each day we must tremble at the Word. We can all think of someone that we know who have died violent or unexpected deaths and wondered if Yahweh was judging that individual for some specific sin that we had knowledge of. The mere possibility of judgment should cause us to tremble in our shoes. It should be a primary source for encouraging us to live RIGHT each day. You have a knowledge of the Word of Yahweh. You know what Yahweh expects from you each day. You understand most of the requirements that He has for those who desire a place in the age to come. You also know about the terrible things that shall befall those who ignore the call to repentance. As you consider all of the reasons to obey Yahweh—your love for Him, the love you have for Yahshua, the love you have for your fellow man, the sense of doing right that permeates your character, etc—also use the fear of Yahweh and tremble at His word.
