Daily Devotional for May 19, 2022
Today is day 37 in our count to Pentecost!
“The most important one,” answered Yahshua, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, Yahweh our Elohim, Yahweh is one. Love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:29-31
Yahshua the Messiah, in these few verses, is giving to the scribe the summary of all of the 10 commandments. The first and foremost commandment is to love Yahweh with all our being, all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. We are to love nothing more than Yahweh. He is our creator, protector, provider and loving Father and loving Him is our main goal. This commandment summarizes the first 4 of the 10 commandments. The second, which is like the first, summarizes the last 6 commandments having to do with loving our neighbor. Remember that love is the fulfilling of the law. By loving Yahweh and our brothers and sisters in the faith is how the world will know that we are truly His disciples indeed.
