Daily Devotional for July 11, 2023
For these commands are a lamp,
this teaching is a light,
and the corrections of discipline
are the way to life, Proverbs 6:23
Living in a world full of darkness and sin it’s easy to lose our way as we go through life. Our minds become clouded and our thoughts run rampant as we try to make sense of what we see happening around us.
Notice that it’s the commands of Yahweh which will lighten our path. The pathway of righteousness is a narrow pathway and we will need all the light we can get to walk safely along its path. The teachings are a lamp, which illuminate our way.
If we would obtain life, true life, then the corrections of discipline are necessary. They teach us what to do and what not to do in order to be safe. Much like a parent warning a child about the hot stove, they protect us from harm.
Put your trust in the teachings and commands of Yahweh and allow Him to discipline you as a loving Father would discipline His children.
